Glenwood Regional Medical Center Opens Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center

West Monroe, Louisiana — Glenwood Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the opening of its new Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center at the Glenwood Medical Mall, Suite 609. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House are set for March 5, 2015, with the official ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. and Open House until 3:30 p.m.

“We are very excited about the opening of our new Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center and invite the public to attend our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House,” says Matt Roberts, CEO at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. “The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center will assist patients in achieving and maintaining an optimal state of health through education, exercise and emotional support. At Glenwood Regional Medical Center, our entire staff is committed to our mission to provide exceptional healthcare and support through quality service to all.”

“Our goal is unique in many ways”, says Tim Smith, Director. “We are in the business of reaching out and helping the community to recover from heart and lung diseases. Our commitment to our community and region is top priority.” The center consists of a multi‐disciplined team of highly qualified health care professionals and serves under the medical direction of physicians Dr. Ron Hammett, Pulmonary Critical Care Specialist and Dr. Thomas Causey, Cardiologist.

The cardiac rehabilitation program is designed for individuals who have experienced a heart attack, bypass surgery, angioplasty/stent, chest pains, valve disease or individuals with multiple risk factors for developing heart disease. Our professional staff monitors blood pressure, pulse and heart activity while exercising. Weekly educational classes from stress management to nutrition and meal planning are held to assist with daily living and lifestyle changes.

The Glenwood Pulmonary Rehabilitation program consists of two important components, exercise and education. When you experience a chronic lung disease, the simplest of daily activities can become a challenge. Through our program of education and exercise developed exclusive for each patient, pulmonary rehab can help patients learn to breathe easier and gain a better quality of life.

Getting started is easy. Check with your doctor to determine if you can benefit from cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation. With a physician referral, you are ready to get started.
